What are BIM mandates, and which countries will require them in 2025
Governments are making BIM a requirement. See what’s driving the change, how it affects manufacturers, and where it’s happening next.
At Clerkenwell Design Week 2025, BIMobject teamed up with Icons of Denmark to bring BIM to life through a series of engaging, hands-on workshops. In the heart of London’s most vibrant design festival, we connected with architects and designers to explore how digital tools can unlock new possibilities in creative, efficient, and collaborative design.
Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) has long been one of the most anticipated events in the UK’s design calendar, and the 2025 edition proved why. From May 20 to 22, the streets and showrooms of London’s Clerkenwell district came alive with creative energy, as the festival welcomed more than 35,000 visitors, 160+ curated events, and some of the world’s most renowned brands in architecture, furniture, and interior design. Known for its strong focus on innovation and collaboration, CDW offers a unique space where professionals can exchange ideas, discover trends, and connect with industry leaders, making it the perfect setting for BIMobject to bring digital transformation into the spotlight.
This year, we proudly partnered with our customer, Icons of Denmark—one of the top three most downloaded brands on BIMobject in the furniture category in 2024—to host a series of exclusive BIM workshops at their showroom. Under the banner “BIM & Beyond”, these sessions were designed to help architects and designers build confidence using digital tools like Revit and SketchUp, and get familiar with the use of the Icons on Denmark BIM files available for free download at BIMobject.
Led by Icons’ Project Design Lead Agne Mankute, along with our own BIMobject specialists Daniel Schwaiger and Magnus Branse, the sessions provided practical guidance on navigating the BIMobject platform, customising digital furniture models to meet project-specific requirements, and building accurate layouts using both standard and bespoke configurations.
Whether attendees were just getting started or refining existing skills, the workshops provided the tools to work more intelligently, communicate design intent with clarity, and collaborate across teams with greater efficiency. By focusing on real-world project needs, we demonstrated how mastering digital platforms can elevate the entire design process—from inspiration and specification to execution.
We also explored one of the most talked-about topics in the BIM space: the value of manufacturer-developed BIM objects versus generic ones. Participants gained insight into why real, brand-authored objects offer higher value through technical accuracy, traceability, and better performance in real project workflows.
To support all BIMobject brands participating in Clerkenwell Design Week, we launched a dedicated digital brochure—an easy, interactive way for professionals to explore the exhibiting manufacturers already active on our platform. Featuring direct links to each brand’s page and their BIM content, the brochure offered a shortcut to discover, download, and integrate products from the brands participating in CDW even before arriving at the event.
We promoted the brochure ahead of the show through a targeted newsletter to english users and across our LinkedIn channels. This initiative not only increased visibility for our manufacturers but also enhanced the visitor experience, allowing them to get quick access to all the digital products and brands available on BIMobject.

Our collaboration with Icons of Denmark made Clerkenwell Design Week more than just an exhibition—it became a space of learning, connection, and empowerment. From the buzz in the showroom to the thoughtful conversations around specification and design, it was clear: the future of design is digital, and BIMobject is here to help lead that transformation.
For manufacturers in the building and interior design industries, getting discovered by the right professionals at the right time is key. BIMobject helps bridge that gap. Our platform is designed to put manufacturers in front of the global architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community—at the very moment when they are searching for products to specify.
With over 5 million registered users worldwide, BIMobject gives manufacturers a direct digital path to reach architects, designers, and specifiers who are actively working on projects. By publishing product data as downloadable BIM objects, manufacturers not only improve visibility but also become a part of the early design conversation. This helps brands influence product selection long before construction begins.
Through tools like analytics dashboards, targeted promotion, and SEO-friendly brand pages, manufacturers on BIMobject gain deeper insight into who is viewing and downloading their content, enabling smarter marketing decisions and stronger lead generation. Every object downloaded through the platform is an opportunity for real-world specification.
Relevance is also key in a digital-first world. With BIMobject, manufacturers can ensure their product data is always up-to-date, compliant with industry standards, and available in the formats professionals use most (like Revit, Archicad, SketchUp). This not only builds trust with architects but also strengthens a brand’s presence in the digital supply chain.
At Clerkenwell Design Week, the impact of this approach was visible—manufacturers who embraced digital product content, like Icons of Denmark, stood out not just for their designs, but for how accessible and project-ready their products were.
If you're a manufacturer looking to stand out in a crowded market, BIMobject is your partner in driving digital visibility and getting your products into real projects. From April 23 to 25, BIMobject participated as an event partner at REBUILD, the benchmark event for innovation in building, held at IFEMA Madrid, where we reaffirmed our commitment to driving the digitalization of the construction sector.
The EU’s ambitious push toward sustainability has introduced a series of regulations impacting how buildings are designed, constructed, and maintained. For building product manufacturers, these regulations create new demands from architects, specifiers, and developers who need compliant solutions to meet their obligations. We'll provide a clear overview of these regulations, your compliance obligations, and timelines for implementation. By the end, you'll better understand how these affect your operations and how to adapt your business strategies accordingly.
